DESCRIPTION:Dr Ben Rider-Stokes is an active researcher at the Open University investigating the mineralogical surfaces of asteroids and planets through the analysis of meteorites. He will talk to us about previous missions to asteroids and some that are ongoing. And he will bring meteorites which we will be able to hold and photograph !! \nBen has several publications which you might want to read before the lecture\, a recent paper tests a major gap in planetary science knowledge\, known as the ‘Missing Mantle Problem’ with the manuscript entitled ‘The mystery of the missing mantle problem and insights from spectroscopy’ (Easy to find via Google)
